Summer Bridge Deferment
Summer Bridge Deferments are available for students who have used their grace period, were full or half-time for the spring semester, and intend to enroll full or half-time for the fall semester.
You are eligible to defer your student loan payments through the summer months if you meet ALL of the following criteria:
- Qualify for the Spring 2010 school deferment
- Intend to return to school in the fall
- Intend to qualify for the Fall 2010 school deferment
In the event you fail to enroll in the fall term, the deferment will be reversed and a forbearance will be applied to prevent the loan from being late. Interest that has accrued while loan was in Summer Bridge Deferment will be capitalized onto the principal balance.
