Apply for 2007-2008 Financial Aid Now!
The 2007-2008 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA is required by most colleges to determine the types and amounts of financial aid awarded to students. Remember: the FAFSA must be completed each academic year.
When you use FAFSA on the Web to complete your information online, the FAFSA information will be processed and sent to the school fast. Here are some helpful tips and information about this year's FAFSA.
- Obtain a Federal Student Aid Personal Identification Number (FSA PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov to electronically sign the FAFSA. The student needs a PIN and a parent needs a PIN if the student is dependent. Use the same PIN if you filed a FAFSA previously. The PIN is also used to electronically sign your Master Promissory Note for loans you take out with National Education. You'll save time in getting your loan.
- The FAFSA is available in English and Spanish.
- Complete the FAFSA on the Web Worksheet before filing. It's a great tool to help gather the information you need.
- Get the answers to questions you may have. Check the FAFSA instructions or ask the financial aid administrator at the school.
File on time! Each school has a preferred deadline date for filing the FAFSA. Do you know what your date is? If not, check the school's website or contact the financial aid office for the filing date and also if your school requires any additional forms. It's a date you don't want to miss.
